Baxters Arms - Fenwick Lane, Fenwick, Doncaster, DN6 0HA
We've been eating here for the last 28 years - says it all.
The Fish & Chips served on Thursdays is first class.
If you go on a Saturday, then it isn't as good - as they use the fish left over from Thursday.

We paid Alan a visit on Thursday 29th October and thoroughly enjoyed an awesome fish & chip meal.
Large Cod, chips, mushy peas and a breadcake for just £8.
Harry's Fish Bar & Restaurant - High Street, Hatfield, Doncaster, DN7 4BP
A long established Chippy which has now extended in to a tastefully decorated 60 seater restaurant.
Alan, the Governor at the Baxters Arms recommended Harrys to us - and what a recommendation!
There is barely the width of a fag paper separating these two great venues.
Forget Kenny's at Conisbrough and Whitbys in the old fire station in Doncaster - The Baxters and Harry's are in our opinion of a much higher standard.
The photo is one before Harry's extended - one for the archives.
Kenny's Fish & Chips - Doncaster Road, Conisbrough, Doncaster, DN12 3AG
We weren't overly impressed with Kenny's and would rate it 3 stars at best.
Large Cod, Chips, Mushy Peas, 1 slice of Bread & Butter - £10.70
Pot of Tea - £1.50
The £10.70 charged by Kenny's looks extortionate when compared to the £8 at The Baxters. In addition, the fish at The Baxters is much larger, fresher and better quality.
We tried it the once and will not be returning.
